A Few Words
A concentrated effort by the entire family and a European Union grant have helped create one of the best-known establishments in the hospitality industry. Marathi’s main goal is to serve dishes made with pure, own-grown ingredients—the main motivator behind the decision to create stockbreeding units and small farms as a source of seasonal produce. The family also produces its own olive oil and wines to complete the restaurant’s offerings. Great care has been taken in developing recipes for kokoretsi, kontosouvli, sausages, boiled goat, roast pork, and spit-roast lamb. The restaurant also holds a special license that allows it to cut meat to order so that lamb chops, pork ribs, and other cuts are fresher. The menu’s offerings are completed by a selection of cheeses from Paros dairies. The family-run restaurant emphasis friendliness and comfort, offering diners a pleasant setting, ample parking, a small playground, and verdant courtyard aimed at making diners feel at home. The premises are large enough to handle private bookings for baptisms, weddings, and other social events.
