A Few Words
Established since 1932, Stegna Kozas is now run the by third generation of proprietors. It is located at Archangelos beach, about 30 kilometers from Rhodes Town and 18 kilometers from Lindos. The restaurant remains true to the vision of founder Dimitris Kozas with a menu that highlights fish and seafood. Cleanliness, quality, and service are the three pillars of the restaurant’s success. Stegna Kozas looks as it is anchored to the edge of the beach and was the first restaurant in the area to sit so close to the waterline. Located between the Agathis and Tsambikas beaches, the Stegna beach is the most popular seaside resort among locals and tourists. Stegna Kozas only serves local fish and seafood. Its wine list numbers more than 35 labels. The dishes are created using locally-grown vegetables, hand-kneaded bread baked in a wood-burning oven, pure sea salt, wild capers, oregano, as well as the owners’ olive oil and dairy products. The menu features fresh calamari, cuttlefish, mussels, clams, mollusks, limpets, sea squirts, sea urchins, Symi shrimp, pinna nobilis, octopus and other edible sea treasures. Signature dishes include the scorpion fish linguine (which one the first prize for Mediterranean cooking), lobster and spaghetti (which is prepared at the table), squid risotto with orange, grouper, roast eggplant salad, and sun-dried octopus. Dishes are all prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients as Stegna Kozas’s kitchen has HACCPD 50 certification (and is also certified as an establishment serving authentic Greek cuisine). Indeed, the kitchen is open so patrons can observe mea preparation. The food is served in a dining room with stunning view and music playing softly in the background.
