Tiny Antiparos, with its mysterious cave and lacy shore, revives the tradition of klidonas on June 23-24 on the feast of Ayios Ioannis. On July 17, at the height of summer, locals turn out for the panigyri at Ayia Marina where a three days of revelry follow services and the leading of the saint’s icon in procession around the village. The merrymaking includes music, dancing, traditional dishes, sports competitions, and fireworks. On July 27, the feast of Ayios Panteleimonas is marked with a panigyri famed for its dancing and merriment that lasts until morning. Every year on May 7, a panigyri is held by the cave’s impressive mouth for the observance of the feast of Ai Yiannis Spiliotis with dancing and fine food. On September 9, as the Cyclades prepare for autumn, a panigyri is held for the feast of Panayia Faneromeni.
